Day 324: Complaining can be good for you

The thing about complaining is that it’s sooooo easy. Anybody can do it. We have all done it, looked at problems in our lives and complained about it, knowing full well that complaining about something is utterly useless.

So how  then can complaining be good for you?

Day 278: Be solution orientated – not problem orientated

images The Other day I was facing a dilemma with some farm work. without going into details I had a particular problem where I could not find a solution and all I saw was problem after problem. So I explained the problems in detail to my partner and after every suggestion she gave me to get to a solution all I did was showing the problems with her suggestions. In the end I was complaining about the problems and became a little frustrated with all the problems. There is a saying “ complaining without giving solutions is called whining” - so at the end of it all I was doing was whining.

I was in a reaction at that point, because all I could see was problems. Then she said to me” Be solution orientated – not problem orientated”. And that stuck with me and I could see what I was doing. I was purely focusing on all the problems without actually looking at solutions. At that moment I was problem orientated and thus it is all I could see – problems. I took her advice started looking at solutions and then found something that worked.

It’s so easy to list the problems in our lives and continuously point them out and complain about them, but it’s a very different story to stop the whining and complaining and actually look for solutions to the problems. And in some cases there is not an Ideal solution which makes it easy to get stuck with all the problems, but being Solution Orientated will assist and support you to stop being blinded and consumed with the problems in your life and to find solutions.

Next time you find yourself in a situation where all you see is problems then you know “ I am being problem orientated”. In this state all you will see is problems and no solution will come out of this. Instead be Solution Orientated – this way you don’t allow the problems to keep you from getting to a solution.

Day 277: What does it mean to be "Here" in the moment?

images You have probably heard this a few times in life “Live in the moment”. What does it mean to live in the moment? What does it mean to be here in the moment? And more importantly why is it so hard to actually be here in the moment?

The next time you are doing something like cleaning your house or some gardening pay attention to where you thoughts go. I was walking through the orchard one morning assessing the damage from a recent hail storm which unfortunately destroyed most of the figs. Anyway, as I was looking at the trees and trying to fix some of the damage and salvage what I could, I was constantly thinking. Thoughts like thinking about what I’m going to do next and what I’m going to make myself for lunch and other plans of the week etc.

So while I was busy picking damage fruit and trimming broken branches I was thinking about other things. I was not actually here in the moment, but in the future looking at plans and things I am going to do next – instead of being here and focusing on what I’m currently doing.

So being here in the moment means actually being here in the moment. It’s Not thinking about the future and constantly being in your head. While I was thinking about these things while walking in the orchard my awareness was diminished. When I realized what was doing and stopped the thoughts to simply be here in the moment I could hear the birds that I did not notice before.

Not being fully here in the moment we tend to miss things – it is in these moments that we tend to misplace keys, or forget about turning the oven off or any other event of forgetfulness. Simply because when you were putting down the keys you were in your head and not actually aware of your environment.

So bring yourself back to earth and be Here

Day 258: Life lessons through Music – Specificity

pains Lately I have started practicing piano and currently I am working on a classical song that is very difficult for me. The thing about playing piano or any instrument is that to be good at it you need to be very specific in terms on finger placement, finger speed and velocity. If you are not specific in it you are going to make mistakes and play the music wrong.

What I do is learn the song one section at a time – once I am able to play it without mistakes I move on to the next section. Now, there are many sections in this song and what I found was that as I progressed I tended to rush through the sections. There are a few sections where I always make mistakes at the exact same place every time I play the song through.

This got very frustrating, but I finally realized why. When I first learnt and played those sections and when I first made the mistakes – I did not stop to correct them effectively. I kind of just skipped it because it’s such a small point I rather want to get on with the next section so that I can learn the whole song. Now what has happened is that I formed a habit and that mistake is actually now part of how I play the song. All because I did not stop and correct it the moment I made the mistake – I was not specific enough the first time I played it. Now I have to unlearn the mistake by repeatedly playing it correctly over and over until it sinks in.

And this basically related to life as well. We go through life and we make mistakes along the way. We learn how to deal with events in our lives and how to deal with things. For example as a kid somebody said something nasty to me and I took it personally and became angry – From that moment whenever a similar events plays out I do the exact same thing, because when it first happened I did not stop for a moment to realize that taking things personally is not necessary – I am the one who creates the reaction within me.

sdghsdghgesThere are so many examples of how we all made mistakes in life and never really learned from them, but instead created a habit to repeat those mistakes and that has become part of who we are. And to change that behavior requires us to consistently and repeatedly correct it whenever it comes up. For example with me and taking this personally – whenever I took something personally I to stopped and breathed and let go of the anger and reaction. Eventually over time this behavior faded away – I had to unlearn it.

Sure it would have been easier to stop the behavior as soon as it happened, but we are not taught or shown how to respond practically and effectively to situations in life.

Have we reached the limit Of Human Creativity?

creativity_is_boundless_by_pixelnase1 When was the last time you watched a really good movie? Any of them new? It seems that all the new movies that come out are simply the same. The plot is predictable, the same shit happens – there is nothing new. I watch a movie and the same things happen – it is like they use a formula for all movies and stick to it. Has every conceivable plot or plot twist or events or storyline been used already? Did you notice that movies coming out now have the year it was released added to it? Because there are so many movies with the same name that they add the year so that people do not confused, also to show that this is a new movie they have not seen yet.

What about music? The songs on the radio are really substandard compared to the songs of old and 90% of them are all about sex. It is like the music producers realized that they cannot make money off the actual music anymore, so they rely on making the artist appealing to the audiences by using the only method left that works – sexualizing them.

It has become the only way to get attention and get people to listen and buy the music and go to concerts. They try and find ways to get attention by doing very crazy things – the more outrages the more attention they get like for example what Miley is doing right now and the things Lady GAGA did.

Back to my point – are they doing this because they can’t come up with actual good music?

So have we – the human race – come to the limits of creativity? Has every chord progression already been used? No more unique movies to be conjured up from our imagination. Are we doomed to watch the same things over and over and over again? Even TV series rely on explicit sex scenes to get people to watch, because the story line and actors are simply not good enough.

limitations I for one enjoy watching movies and TV series, but unfortunately I have to watch all the old movies and TV series again, because the new shows and movies coming out are simply crap. It is like a gradual decline in quality over the last few years and this actually makes us accept substandard shows and movies. The bar for what is good has dropped to an all-time low.

Please producers, musicians and whomever else writes movies and shows – dig deep and find the creativity and expression and give the world something you can be proud of.

WTF is Self-support part 2

IN my previous blog I wrote about Support and always looking for it from others which lead to the conclusion that if I constantly want others to support me then i do not support myself. So here follows steps for Self-support:

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to always look for support from other people – always outside of myself.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to always want to be supported by others before I can make a decision not realizing that this lead to me being indecisive and not able to direct myself in certain situations.selfhelp

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to depend on support from others to such a extend that I could not always stand on my own without support from others.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to within relationships want support to be the primary deciding factor whether or not I continue with a relationship and if I do not get support to move on.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that If I constantly look for support from others it is an indication that I do not support myself.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to support myself and to believe that I can only obtain support from others outside myself and not from myself as Self-support.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear self-support, because it is easier to get others to support who I can always fall back to when mistakes are made, whereas with Self-support mistakes are on me.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that I am unable to support myself, because It is something I have not fully lived yet, instead of realizing that just because I have not done it before effectively yet does not mean I am unable to.

I commit myself to stop the belief that support can only be obtained from others/outside myself.

I commit myself to support myself – to live Self support

I commit myself to stop depending on others and to support myself with decisions

I commit myself to stop wanting/looking support only from others and to instead support myself first and when I face a point where I require assistance I ask for support.

Day 176 - First Experience with Authority

respect_my_authority_by_livnlife-d3a0op5In my previous blog, I wrote about manners and respect, and how I was taught that my “elders” are superior to me because of it. I had to show them respect and have manners – basically I had to present myself the “right” way. Every time I was in the presence of someone older than me, like for example the parents of friends, I would be all polite and remember my manners. Which brings me to my next point – Authority. ‘Keeping in mind though’, that I am NOT saying to now disrespect others / don’t have manners! I am saying though, the starting point / approach within it all primarily being done through fear and not within the starting point of considering/regarding others / “treating others as you would want to be treated” – such living principles are cool, cause it brings through an awareness of considering/speaking/behaving/being with others as you would want them to be with you. Now, we have “manners / respect” being demanded out of fear and hierarchy and in this, there is no such principles existent of “considering/regarding/treating others as you would want to be treated”. So, we’ll look more into this in posts to come.

My parents were my first Authority-figures in my life. And since I was taught to “respect my elders” I believed that all older people have a Authority. As I grew up I held on to this belief subconsciously. If I look closer now - whenever I was in the presence of “my elders” there was a hint a fear, because of when I was a child I was taught to show my manners and respect them, otherwise I would get into trouble.

The word Authority was linked with fear and helplessness.  I myself had no authority since I believed myself to be inferior to others based on the perception and idea that “my elders”  have more value/superior to me since I had to respect them but they did not have to respect me since I am just a child.

An example would be the following: When I was alone I would be a certain way, when I was around friends I would be a certain way. When I was around “my elders” for example talking to parents and older people I would act very differently. I was not really aware of these changes. I did not stop and look to see what I was doing and why. I was not even aware of the fear I had. What I did know is that I did not like speaking to “my elders”, because I was never comfortable with it. Now I can see why. Primarily because, the respect/manners in relation to adults/elders are “demanded / taught” – the child then “acts like the parents demand” and so, every time I was around adults/elders – I put on the act of manners/respect. Obviously, with my friends and when I was alone – I was also in characters/personalities, this is how we function in the world: dependent on the people/hierarchy/environment: we put on different acts/characters/personalities. Which within this, makes one wonder: do we really then in fact know who we are if we change/act dependent on where/with who we are???

So, I assumed a role/character that I created long ago based on what I was taught and my perception and beliefs of what I taught.  That I as a child have no authority – parents do and teachers do. I as a child must listen and be “a good boy”.  And that is what I did from childhood. Now when do you stop being a child and start becoming an elder that must be respected by kids? When do you join that club?

Sure my body is aging and growing, but where does the authority come in? Nobody really taught me authority. I did not have a class named Authority 101. In school we learn that teachers and the headmaster have the Authority – not us children. I Never had the opportunity to learn Authority. Only after living here on the farm did I have the opportunity to experience Authority within myself. Which I will cover in my next blog, and within this see what Authority means within the principle of/as a Living Word.

Day 170 - Finding things to make you Happy

Life is full of ups and downs. You must look hard and find the things in life that makes you feel good. Do all you can to feel good -but what does this really imply? happiness_11

If you want to feel good then it means you feel bad/down. Then what we do is look for things to make us happy and then we are happy for a little while then we feel down again. This roller-coaster ride is not the way to go through life and very impractical.

What I have found a while ago was that I was looking for things to do - specifically something I like and enjoy. I would either watch a cool series or movie or play a game or find something outside to do. When I was done with a movie or a series I noticed that I was feeling down - at the time I did not realize this - especially when there is nothing to watch or do that I like. Basically what was happening was that I experienced myself as being down and instead of investigating the reason WHY I was feeling down what I did was look for something OUTSIDE myself to get me out of that feeling - from a negative to a positive.

What this showed me is that I was suppressing what I felt and hiding it with doing things that I like. Now I am not saying it is "wrong" or that you should not do things that you like - its cool to do so - but it is all about the starting point/reason behind what I am doing.

I am the one who created that feeling of "being down", I created that experience within myself. Within this I am the one responsible for it and thus cannot blame anything outside myself for its existence within me. The same goes for finding things OUTSIDE myself to get me out of that down feeling - this will never work. It works for a little while, but not really because what is happening is that the feeling is simply suppressed - that is why it will keep on coming back and you will keep on feeling the need to make yourself happy.

I created it - I am responsible. The only way to get yourself out of that feeling of being down is to investigate how you created it in the first place. Then forgive yourself for creating it and walk a commitment to stop creating it. That is what the Desteni process is - it is about you taking responsibility for yourself. Giving yourself the power of creation where instead of creating these feelings that bring you down and limit you you have the opportunity to make and shape yourself into a effective living human beings where you are the directive principle in your life. I am a Musician

Forgive me listeners for I have sinned - It has been a while since I released a song...

I have been involved with music my whole life. From playing the piano to playing bands to forming Robot Virgins and producing/writing songs with various other Artists. It has been an enjoyable journey thus far.

It takes allot of time and patience and dedication to write and produce a song - Some songs images took me days and most took weeks and even months. It is very satisfying when A song is done. These days I mostly listen to my own songs and songs I have produced. Lately is has become increasingly difficult to write music. I have a few songs that I wrote, but they are not good enough. So I write this blog to find the reasons why I am struggling to write music these days.

My first question to myself is why am I a musician? Why do I write songs? Why Am I doing it?

My first reason was that my mother introduced me to music by teaching me the piano. As a young child playing the piano I noticed that people were amazed by me playing it - I was being appreciated and got attention for doing it and so that was my reason. As I got older and learnt other instruments and played with friends they appreciated me and I got attention and was fitting in. Which became my drive to improve my skills and become better at the instruments I was playing. I started writing songs and formed bands all the while getting attention and being appreciated. In a Nutshell - I was a musician to be appreciated and get attention and to fit in - got good at being a musician and simply continued doing it. All this was sub-couscous - I was not aware of it until much later after I became a part of the Desteni Process.

Before We started Robot Virgins I had a collection of songs I wrote through out the years - most not particularly good, but I enjoyed the process of writing music. It is creating something out of seemingly nothing. Using sounds and notes, shaping and structuring into a flow and you have a song. I mostly did music only - always had a difficult time with placing words to music. That was the one part of music I really enjoy - writing music and then listening to my own music.

Robot Virgins formed. I learnt how to produce music on a computer by myself which was awesome, because now I can write songs, record songs and produce songs. The first official song I recorded and produced  was Robot Virgins - Your Truth which turned out to be an All time favorite. As I was writing the song with help from Cerise I wrote it with other people in mind - meaning I was writing it for people who experience was the song is about. Only later after a few months of release did I realize The words are specific to me - I wrote the song for myself. It was interesting.

So Why Am I a Musician now. It is something that I am good at. It is a method to get a message across to assist and support people to realize something about themselves they have not yet realized. My starting Point within All this was still writing for others and not doing it for myself as well. I used to play guitar and drums and piano for the sake of simply playing because I enjoy it, but I have not done that in a long time - to play for myself. I started a few days ago to once again just play on instruments for myself.

I will continue this on the morrow as I go into more detail how I looked for my Muse and realized my Muse was me all along.....

Day 99 - Liking things just to be liked

Times when i am asked if a show is good I would hesitate and go into a little fear before I answer, because what if I say its good and then they do not like it and then I fear their judgements. The same with games and food.

Facebook-like

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to when someone asks me if I like this show to hesitate in my answer

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear saying I like something, because I fear I will be judged if they do not like it and I do

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to When in a group when the group says they like something to say I also like it even though I do not so that I can fit in

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to when someone asks me what food is good to fear telling them, because I fear if they eat it and not like it they will be anger at me

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to compromise myself in saying I like things just to fit in and to be accepted by others

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want approval from others

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that if I want others to accept me then I do not accept myself

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to accept myself

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to when someone asks me what food is good to fear telling them, because I fear if they eat it and not like it they will be anger at me

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that liking and not liking something is based on who the person is, where the person is born, how the person is raised. what etc.

I commit myself to to stop the fear of someone judging me on what I like and do not like and thus stop the hesitation and speak out

I commit myself to stop compromising myself by saying I like stuff wanting to be accepted by others  and to instead accept myself

I commit myself to stop fearing others reactions like anger and disappointed when they ask me what food is good by simply telling them what food I like

I commit myself to stop being directed by others and stop basing my decision  on how other will react and instead direct myself

I commit myself to to stop judging others who like different things than I do

Day 78 - Evil is just a part of the world

I was reading in a magazine where they had a section how to tell children that bad people are not cool. And one thing that was written down was to tell children that evil is just a part of the world - and that there cannot be good people if evil did not exist. Saying this to children is saying that evil is an acceptable part of life - that bad people must exist so ''don't worry about it children its just part of life''. That is really messed up - teaching children that they do not have to bother finding solutions, because evil is acceptable.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that  bad people is just a Good-Vs.-Evil-Wallpapers-4 part of this world

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that evil is just a part of the world and how life is

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to be angry at evil and not want to see it and hide form it-  because it reminds me of myself as the evil also exist within me as with everybody

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to accept this part of life so that I do not have to do anything to change it

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself as a good person to fear evil - and out of this fear teach my children to stay away and tell them its part of life and there's nothing you can do to change it

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that being good and believing myself to be good - Then evil must exist and so being good I accept the evil in this world

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to justify all the bad and evil in this world by saying without it good cannot exist - and although this statement of polarity is true - I forgive myself that I have accented and allowed good and evil to be a part of life

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that good and evil is not required or necessary in this world - that they are both sides of the same coin - that evil fuels good and god fuels evil in a never ending cycle and to stop the cycle i must first start within myself

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to let go of the polarity of good and evil and to instead direct myself with common sense to do what is best for allEvil Graphic

I commit myself to not accept and allow evil as abuse and suffering to exist in this world and to believe it as part of life

I commit myself to stop justifying the abuse and suffering  in this world by believing it as part if life

I commit myself to to stop the polarity creation of good and evil and to instead use common sense and what's best for all to dictate

I commit myself to stop making excuses so that I can ignore all the bad things in life and not do anything about it - but to instead look right at it and find the cause for its existence and find solutions to end the abuse and suffering

I commit myself to stop fearing evil and to realize that the evil exist within myself as well as the belief that i am good - and to instead direct myself and not be directed by fear so that i do not teach other fear

I commit myself to dedicate my life to not look away from fear and evil - but to stop it within myself and others by teaching others the same
