Did Rage Against the Machine change the World?

You know what would be awesome - instead of voicing the problems we face in this world why not sing the solutions. I was am a big Rage fan, and even through singing and playing their songs I did not actually “hear’’ the message. One of my Favorite songs from them is “Bullet in your Head” - They had a message and they tried haring that message, but without an actual solution. All this does is create more anger and more Rage.

It’s like “Yea man, I see that I’m being told what to do, the system got me, I’m angry about it,  thanks for letting me know”. I did not go a step further and ask myself “What can I do about it?”.

So yes – this is a far better than the shit we hear on the radio and the message that RATM represented is still a millions time better than the Shit we call music these days, but in the end it did not change anything significantly – they did not have an impact in the world.

They did however have an impact on the individual level, planting the seeds of questioning WTF is going on in the world so from that perspective it’s awesome – but they did not present any real solutions. They had the following they had the power, but they also did not know what to do to bring real change.

From my perspective they did not understand the full problem. Yes, people are being manipulated and brainwashed in the name of capitalism and control and are being screwed “by the man” – BUT that is not the real problem. The problem is that all the problems we face in this world are created by US – we the people – Humanity. We created  the system, the machine so its time to top raging against ourselves.  It’s all the result of our human nature – what we see in this world is what we all created. It’s our Nature that is destroying us – we are our own worst enemy.

Human Nature is the problem. You change Human Nature you change the world. Now comes the real question: How do you change human nature?

Day 324: Complaining can be good for you

The thing about complaining is that it’s sooooo easy. Anybody can do it. We have all done it, looked at problems in our lives and complained about it, knowing full well that complaining about something is utterly useless.

So how  then can complaining be good for you?

Day 278: Be solution orientated – not problem orientated

images The Other day I was facing a dilemma with some farm work. without going into details I had a particular problem where I could not find a solution and all I saw was problem after problem. So I explained the problems in detail to my partner and after every suggestion she gave me to get to a solution all I did was showing the problems with her suggestions. In the end I was complaining about the problems and became a little frustrated with all the problems. There is a saying “ complaining without giving solutions is called whining” - so at the end of it all I was doing was whining.

I was in a reaction at that point, because all I could see was problems. Then she said to me” Be solution orientated – not problem orientated”. And that stuck with me and I could see what I was doing. I was purely focusing on all the problems without actually looking at solutions. At that moment I was problem orientated and thus it is all I could see – problems. I took her advice started looking at solutions and then found something that worked.

It’s so easy to list the problems in our lives and continuously point them out and complain about them, but it’s a very different story to stop the whining and complaining and actually look for solutions to the problems. And in some cases there is not an Ideal solution which makes it easy to get stuck with all the problems, but being Solution Orientated will assist and support you to stop being blinded and consumed with the problems in your life and to find solutions.

Next time you find yourself in a situation where all you see is problems then you know “ I am being problem orientated”. In this state all you will see is problems and no solution will come out of this. Instead be Solution Orientated – this way you don’t allow the problems to keep you from getting to a solution.

Day 121 - Sleeping on your Stomach? Help with Back Problems

My back hurts - allot

I have always been sleeping on my stomach - its my comfortable sleeping position since i can remember. Its nice and cozy sleeping on my stomach and any other position is uncomfortable and it takes longer to fall asleep.

It has been fine sleeping on my stomach until recently...lower_back_pain[1]

I’ve been having lower back problems and needed to go to a chi ropractor often. at first i believed it was because of the farm activities i have been doing - like hauling sand bags for weeks or carrying 25 liter water bottles and not using my back correctly. But low and behold it was not that.

i noticed it was when i woke in the mornings with neck pain and back pain. I did some research and found out that sleeping on your back for a long time causes lower back pain eventually. Yeay for me...

Basically what happens is when you sleep on your stomach your neck is turned while you back is straight which causes tension on your lower back where it is constantly under strain. Now when i sleep on my stomach for one night my back is out. This is problematic for me, because living on the farm and participating in activities i require my back to NOT be out and in pain so it limits me.

The solution to this is to simply not sleep on my stomach anymore, but as it turns out it is not as simple as that for me. I force myself now to sleep on my side or back, but during the night while im asleep I roll over onto my stomach, lol.

The first time what i did is strap something to my chest so that when i do roll over in my sleep it will hurt me and ill wake up and not sleep on my stomach. This worked for about 2 days until i woke up the 3rd day with a sore chest bone and a mark form sleeping on my stomach regardless. After that i ''willed'' myself to not sleep on my stomach and that worked well for a while - i would still some days wake up on my stomach, but mostly it worked. Until recently this has not worked anymore.

And it is linked to my previous blog of loosing focus. I am very uncomfortable everyday with my stomach problems and even more so going gluten-free. So what happens ''sub consciously'' when i am asleep  is that i want to be comfortable and thus roll over and sleep on my stomach. yes - even asleep you are still the one who decides what happens - i make the choice to sleep n my stomach.

Tomorrow i will reveal the steps to assist myself how not to sleep on my stomach anymore then its goodbye to back pain.

Journey to life day 26 - Tomorrow everything will be OK.

Tomorrow everything will be OK.

Listen to this as you read:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SW3f0fkTPd8

There is a hope that just tomorrow everything will change and be ok.
I don’t have to do anything because something else will solve it for me.
There is a hope that I will wake up tomorrow and everything will be fine.
Common sense here dictates that if I don't change something today it won’t change tomorrow.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to hope that tomorrow all my problems will go away.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to hope that some higher power will make tomorrow ok and that if I hope hard enough everything will be ok

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to want things to change but am unwilling to do what needs to be done to bring the change

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to believe that feelings and emotions will change the future and make my problems go away

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to desire that just tomorrow will be a better day where my problems will magically go away

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to see that my problems won’t go away by their own, but that I have to change and sort them out.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that no higher power will change me for me, but that I am responsible for me.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to take responsibility for myself to sort out my own issues

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that my actions not only affects me but others as well and in that I am responsible for others as well.

I commit myself to stop the hope that some higher power will change me
I commit myself to stop the believe that something will magically make tomorrow a better day
I commit myself to stop hope, because hope is just that – a word, a belief that something or somebody else will do it for me
I commit myself to take responsibility for my self – because I am also responsible for others
I commit myself to realize that if I don’t make any changes today then obviously there will be no changes tomorrow
I commit myself to realize that if I am the same today then tomorrow will be today and I will be the same.  I have to make the changes to be the change that would change tomorrow
I commit myself to realize that feelings and emotions won’t change a thing
