Day 282: Your Journey to Self-Empowerment:

index I’m pretty sure if you are asked if you would like to empower yourself the answer will be a very definite YES! I mean, who would not want self-empowerment? The funny thing is though that we tend to not realize what Self-empowerment means, we do not understand the most important part of this which is not the “empowerment”, but the SELF.

For me I would say that empowering yourself is probably one of the most difficult things you will face, because empowering yourself means changing yourself. It’s not like you will have somebody else doing it for you – it’s going against who you think you are and what you believe you can and cannot do. It’s a tough road, but when you get to the other side it is well worth it.

One example I can give is that many years ago I was the very definition of the word lazy. With anything that remotely resembles work was met with a large amount of reluctance from me. I disliked work and always whenever possible did the bare minimum to get the task done. This all changed when I started this process of self-empowerment and self-discovery.

For those who were or are lucky enough to live on a farm will know one thing – There is always allot of work to be done. So when we first got the farm we started with the planning. Fences needed to be replaced, trees needed to be planted, horse grazing areas needed to be prepared so it’s safe etc. So as we were planning the usual resistance I faced when seeing work to be done grew as per usual. I really did not want to do it lol. Not just that – I had no idea how to do the stuff, I have never done it before so I was clueless on how to do this.

At that point I faced a choice – do what I usually do and give in to the resistance and stay the same lazy person as I always have been, or make the choice to change myself and not allow my reluctance and resistance to work direct me. And I simply made chose the latter.

That was the easy part – even though it took me most of my life to get to that choice. What I found is that it’s an everyday commitment I make to myself. Change happened over time, its take patience and dedication and consistency. The more I pushed through the resistance to ‘work’ and instead did what needed to be done it became easier over time.

Sure at times I really did not feel like it, but that is where decline comes in and the understanding of the importance of what I was doing. In the end it became like an understanding. I understood the need for what I was doing. For example replacing old rusted barbed wired fencing with new animal safe fencing. It eventually did not even become “work”, but more something that needed to be done and so I did it.

This Journey is not easy, but if I back then did not make the choice to change I would have probably still be the same lazy person as I have always been going through life a slave to my resistance, instead I chose to empower myself.

Day 185 - No time to RELAX!

No time to RELAX!

15446907-word-relax-in-handwriting-on-sandy-beachToday I was walking around a bit inspecting the fruit trees and looking if there is any new growth. Our peach and nectarine trees have started flowing a bit early this year since we are in the middle of winter and they usually start at the end of winter. I occasionally simply go for a walk and look around being here and today I notices a bit of anxiety. A though crossed my head “I’m wasting time!” .

This comes from the idea and belief that doing nothing equals wasting time which I developed from directing it. It was from a drive to keep myself busy to distract myself from myself to use it as an excuse saying I have no time for myself. This also links into the fear I had of getting older. Everything is connected. It got to a point where I did not allow myself to simply do something I like like watching a movie or something.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to take some time for myself.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to create anxiety within myself when going for a walk doing nothing in particular.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear simply doing nothing in particular and taking time for myself to do something I enjoy and to see it as me wasting time.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to create the Idea and belief that doing anything for myself is a waste of time

images I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to become a workaholic as a distraction from myself.

I forgive myself that I have not accepted and allowed myself to realize that my fear of getting older is the reason why I fear wasting time.

I forgive myself that I have accepted and allowed myself to fear taking some time for myself.

I commit myself to stop the belief that doing nothing and taking time for myself is a waste of time – instead I allow myself to take some time.

I commit myself to stop the fear and anxiety when I take some time for myself – instead I realize that taking time for myself is important

I commit myself to stop being a workaholic as a distraction from myself – instead I focus on myself.

I commit myself to when I take walks to breathe and be here in moment and not allow thoughts and feelings to direct me.

Day 85 - Change with assistance from Desteni (part 1)

Here i am going to write about one of the many ways i have changed with the assistance of the Desteni Tools.

Before i became a part of this group I was a ridiculously lazy person. In school I never really read books  so for my book reports I always used the same book - which i read when i was a child. I always finished homework the night before or the morning at school and sometimes i simply did not do it. The same with assignments: we get like a month to do it, but I did it the day before usually.

At home i did not really have any chores to do except take out the trash once a week and maintaining the pool - and I always had resistance towards doing it. And within everything i did i always did it to the bare minimum and quickest way to get it done so that I do not have to put much effort into it.

All this was about to change with the tools I learned from Desteniiprocess

When we first got to the farm I faced this laziness head on - because living on a farm requires some hard work, but it actually started to become fun. It was enjoyable, because everything i did mattered. I could see the results and everything accumulating and where there was once a crappy rusted fence there was a new one and it will last for many years. Where there one was an open piece of land there is now an orchard bearing fruit. All that hard work - digging and planting trees - they were very tiny trees when i planted them and no they are big and fruit bearing trees.

The resistance i felt before regarding work went away, because I did not see it as work. It became something that needs to be done - I understand the need for it and so i do it.

This is a reason why people believe that an equal money system will never work, because people are lazy and would rather sit on a beach all day. But what people are doing now is slaving long hours doing mundane work where the actual job does not contribute to anything that maters and that is not necessary in terms of practicality, but they do it because they need money. And that brings resistance. That all will fall away, because we will be doing practical things that matter and contribute to the whole. And like i did we will come to understand the necessity  of what we will do - like producing food for everybody or cleaning the oceans.

If we all work through understanding we will have a better world. Vote here for a better world - www.equalmoney.org
